Xiaomi Redmi 3S Smartphone with Snapdragon 433

The Chinese popular Smartphone Brand Xiaomi has launched a new model Xiaomi Redmi 3S, after the model Xiaomi Redmi 3.The New smartphone Xiaomi Redmi 3S is comes in two variants based on its builtin storage and memory, First one is with the 2GB of RAM with16GB of inbuilt storage model priced at Chinese yaun 699 (approximately 129 US dollar), and second one is with the 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage model priced at Chinese yaun 899 (approximately 157 US dollar). The new Smartphone Xiaomi Redmi 3S will go on sale starting Thursday and it will be available via the company’s Online Store, Mi.com. The Chinese company Xiaomi has not revealed any details about global availability of the model Redmi 3S. One of the biggest improvement in Xiaomi Redmi 3S is that it features afingerprint scanner at the back panel.

Design

In terms of design , the model Xiaomi Redmi 3S takes many materials from the Xiaomi Redmi 3 and they were able to fit all those things into 5 inch Smartphone.

This time the brand Xiaomi has carry out a Plain pattern on the back side that makes its look great and the all metal Xiaomi Redmi 3S offer a premium look. Its strong materials,smaller size and curves also make for handset that feel strong grip in the hand.

You will found volume buttons on top right side of Redmi 3S , power button below the volume buttons and Sim slot on left side of Redmi 3S. These buttons offers tactile feedback. Also included the IR Blaster on top of smartphone.It can be controlled with Mi Remote appwhich is pre installed in smartphone, but keep in mind that it is very little use able outside of China.And there are plenty of third party apps that can take care of smartphone.There is no capacitive key at the bottom,and there is multi colored notification LED which is nice to have.

It measures 139.3 x 69.6 x 8.5 mm and weighs 144 grams.

Display

The Smartphone Redmi 3S is not high end Smartphone, so this smartphone does not contain best display in market. Xiaomi Redmi 3S has 5 inch IPS screen panel with 720×1280 pixels resolutioin and it is still a respectable offering for the price and size of Redmi 3S. Its display contains multi touch feature. Redmi 3S has better contrast and saturation than Redmi 3.

There seems to be very small shift in color when viewing the display from different angles. Also , while the adaptive brightness function worked very good during our testing, we found it difficult to see the Redmi 3S’s display in direct sunlight, which is not good for some users

Performance

Xiaomi Redmi 3S is comes with all new Octa Core Qualcomm Smapdragon 433 Processor clocked at 1.4 GHz Frequency and Adreno 505 GPU which is good for graphical tasks. The Model Redmi 3S comes with 2GB and also with 3GB RAM , it prove that multi tasking would not be a problem here. There are no problems regarding to Redmi 3s’s performance. Every light tasks in this model are fast, smooth and the heat is reduced to minimum.

It can play most games reasonably well thanks to that Adreno 505 GPU backing the graphics up, but some higher-end games will exhibit frame drops and lag. The experience can vary a bit, though, as even games like Asphalt 8 ran with little hiccups.

Camera

The Xiaomi Redmi 3S has 13 MP with f/2.0 back camera and 5.o MP front camera, which is able to take great shots. Once again, though, this is no high-end performer, and that is something you will easily notice here. There’s a lack of dynamic range and a tendency for over-sharpened images. HDR helps a bit, but it also makes taking shots slower and often makes images look unrealistic.

Software

The Xiaomi Redmi 3S comes with 5.1 Lollipop Android, themed with MIUI 7.We know that most of you don’t like MIUI’s similarities with iOS, but if you use it you will find that it is an enjoyable Ui to use. MIUI is easy to use, but also offers many customization and extra features, which will appeal to Android Fans. You can do many interesting things like record calls,set scheduled battery profiles and change the color of LED color

There is one bad thing that Xiaomi Redmi 3S does not comes with Google Apps.Installing them is an extra step and there is no news of an international version of the device.

Another Bad news is that Xiaomi has Started locking boot loaders. The Xiaomi Redmi 3s is one of affected handset.But this is your security, but experimenters can still play arounf if they are patient.

Xiaomi is requiring users to apply for unlocking privileges and await an response,which Xiaomi says can take 10 days to receive.  It’s good to keep phones secure for the user, but we feel this process is a bit to problematic. And we feel that Xiaomi’s process for unlocking only invites malware to be pre loaded on devices leaving China, as users will have a very tough time removing it.

You should not expect too many updates for Xiaomi Redmi 3s . We know that it is not good , but it is super affordable and does what it is meant  to do, which would put it in the low-priority list in most cases. However, we should also note that MIUI does receive updates of its own, which are released relatively frequently.
