Oukitel A58 Review

Oukitel is a company that’s renowned for its smartphones, but today we’re not here to talk about a smartphone, we’ll talk about a smartwatch. We’re talking about a cheap, elegant, and functional watch; pretty much the whole package. You might be wondering what the name of such an amazing product is; this product goes by the name of Oukitel A58.

Nowadays, having a smartwatch is really convenient thanks to all the features these devices provide and if you can get one for a low price then that’s even better. But the best part about the Oukitel A58 is that it’s so stylish and so functional for a ridiculously low price.

Design:

One of the things that makes the Oukitel A58 so special it’s its classic design; it feels so sober and mature, but definitely not old. Of course, we have to make clear that this smartwatch is not intended for a particularly young public. With this smartwatch you will look absolutely classy no matter where you are or what you are doing, you could be dancing in the middle of the street and you would still look classy. But all jokes aside, this smartwatch will fit any kind of environment, be it formal or casual.

Another thing that we have to point out is that the Oukitel A58 doesn’t look like a smartwatch, at least not at plain sight; it looks like your typical everyday watch, but that’s part of its charm. As for the materials, the borders of the screen and the zipper are both made out of stainless steel; meanwhile, the strap is made out of leather.
The Oukitel A58 comes in 2 different colors: gold and silver, with the strap in brown or black respectively.

Display:

We have a 1.61 inches TFT rectangular screen that counts with a resolution of 256 x 320 pixels, this provides us with a more than decent image quality. We have to mention that the screen is covered by a blue colored crystal that gives this device a really classy and premium look and it also provides an amazing protection.

Also, if you’re kind of clumsy and you tend to break stuff easily, then you don’t have to worry about the Oukitel A58 since it incorporates an IP53 certificate against dust and nebulized water (spray). This means that the smartwatch is somewhat waterproof, but that doesn’t mean we can shower with it, let alone swimming with it, but we don’t consider that as a problem; why would you even take a shower while wearing a watch? Although, you can perfectly wash your hands or your face while wearing it.

Performance:

On the inside we can find an MTK2502 CPU, a CPU specially made for low-cost wearables that works at a clock frequency of 260 MHz, nothing out of the world, it will do pretty much everything that a smartwatch needs to do without any issues.

As for the memories, we have 64 MB of RAM and 128 MB of internal storage. As we said before, nothing out of this world, it’s the basic for a smartwatch. We also need to point out that the Oukitel A58 comes with Bluetooth 4.0 and it’s compatible with devices with Android 4.4/ iOS 7.0 or above.

Battery:

The Oukitel A58 counts with a 280 mAh battery that will provide us with an autonomy of at least 5 days on standby. We know that it’s scarce and that there are other models that provide a better autonomy but we need to keep in mind that we’re talking about a low-end device; not everything about this device can be awesome, some things have to be sacrificed.

Functions:

When we talk about this price range, we’ll always get the same functions, that’s why the low-cost devices tend to stand out because of its design or some other feature. The Oukitel A58 is really no different, we see the same functions that we’ve already seen in many other smartwatches.

We have the typical smartphone functions such as alarm, calculator, calendar, etc. But of course, we’re talking about a smartwatch so we also have to talk about the regular smartwatch functions which are your typical health / sports functions.

We can’t talk about smartwatch functions without talking about health / sports functions, that’s a must-have in all smartwatches. In the case of the Oukitel A58, we have a heart rate sensor and sedentary reminder; we want to point out that we can program the sedentary reminder so that it reminds us when we want to since not everyone has the same capabilities. We also count with a pedometer which will be very useful during exercise sessions.

The heart rate is consistently monitored, just like if we’re talking about an electrocardiogram; thanks to that we can see if our heart rate is stable or if something is wrong with it.

Another feature that most smartwatches have is the search functions; this is very useful if you tend to lose stuff constantly. This function will allow us to pinpoint the location of our smartphone very easily.

Review:

We might not be talking about the fanciest and expensive smartwatch in the world, but one thing that the Oukitel A58 has is class. Seeing a smartwatch with such an amazing design and a set of specifications that it’s definitely not bad for such a low price is just amazing, it’s a complete bargain.

But we have to say that we loved the most about this device is its classic design, it’s just so serious but yet so elegant. That design really caught us, now the question is, will it catch you? We highly recommend that you let yourself get caught; it will be worth every penny.
