Pi Smartwatch Review
We’re already used to seeing wearables everywhere, they’ve already become part of our lives, the issue here is that most of these devices represent quite a hit for our wallet, so we’re always looking for the best specifications for the best price, just like a lion looking for its prey. Lately, we’ve been overwhelmed by a huge amount of new models, it’s not like we’re complaining, on the contrary; the more, the merrier. In this market we have a wide variety of choices, there’re affordable devices and more expensive ones; the one we’ll be talking about today falls into the first one; we’ll talk about the Pi Smartwatch, a smartwatch with an amazing design.
Design :
Not everybody’s a fan of a classic looking smartwatch, but let us tell you that this device has a classic design that will make you love it, it’s just so classy and so elegant, but it also has that sportive vibe to it. It’s perfect for all occasions, either if you’re going to a fancy dinner or simply going out with your friends. Also, this smartwatch will look amazing with pretty much anything you’re wearing, it won’t stand out since it has a really discrete design, but it will make you look more than amazing.
The strap is made out genuine leather which is a really wise choice since they’re opting for a classic looking smartwatch, although if we don’t like that strap we can change it for any other strap that we find more attractive. The body of this watch is made out of a combination of metals, Magnesium, and Titanium, to be more specific. This smartwatch has the following dimensions: 10.04 x 1.73 x 0.52 inches and it counts with a weight of 0.054 kg.
Nothing out of the world, it’s not too big or too heavy to be uncomfortable.
Display :
Lately, more and more smartwatches have started to use a circular design for their screens, and the users have loved it, so there’s no reason to stop, The Pi Smartwatch is pretty much that case. We have a 1.3 inches round OGS screen that counts with a resolution of 240x 240 pixels and a pixel density of 261 ppi. We don’t count with capacitive buttons so we’ll have to use the touchscreen so that we can browse our smartwatch. The size of the screen is nothing new, these devices are bound to have a small screen because of its design; the resolution can’t be that high either, there are some very special cases where a smartwatch can have a decent resolution, but then we’ll be talking about high-end smartwatches, and this isn’t the case.
Battery :
Here we have a 250 mAh battery, we find it to be quite scarce, of course, we’re talking about a low-end smartwatch, but it’s still too short. We’re talking about a week of battery life, it may seem like a long time, but for smartwatch standards it’s not that good. Of course, not everything is bad, having a small battery means that the charging time is reduced, in this case, we’ll only need 60 minutes to get fully charged. But we’re still kind of disappointed with the battery capacity, but after all, we’re talking about a low price watch, you pretty much get what you paid for.
Performance :
On the inside we have nothing really special, we have a MediaTek MTK6261 processor accompanied by 64 Mb of RAM and a storage memory of 32 Mb. We find this to be the basic of the basic, nothing special, it can do what it’s supposed to do and pretty much anything else. Aside from that we find this section to be very tight, and we’re not trying to sound like a broken record but, we’re talking about a low-end device so we can’t expect too much from it.
Functions :
Mostly all smartwatches have those typical sportive functions, such as heart rate sensor, which is pretty much a must-have for all smartwatches, a pedometer, etc. The Pi Smartwatch is actually no different, it has the functions that every smartwatch should have and maybe a little more. As we just mentioned we have the health / sports related features such as the heart rate sensor, the pedometer, the sleep monitor, and a sedentary reminder to let us know when we’re being lazy.
Although this device is not limited to just only health functions, we also have Bluetooth dialing and a phone call reminder. Let’s not forget about the remote control functions which will allow us to take pictures and play music from our phone without even taking it out, we can do all that through the watch. Some other features include an anti-lost system for those users that tend to lose everything, a vibration alarm and a calendar.
This device has Bluetooth 3.0 and has its very own operative system compatible with Android and iOS.

Conclusions :
Some say that beauty is expensive, but by seeing The Pi Smartwatch we can say that that’s a huge lie. It might not have the best specifications, but it can do what it’s supposed to do without any major issues and for a really nice price. It’s obvious that the selling point of this watch is its price and its design; as we said many times before, the design is just gorgeous, it will fit any situation; by buying this smartwatch you’re getting a really attractive accessory with some really nice features for a low price.
